Opportunities to get involved at LCFS

LCFS has many opportunities to volunteer, from our off-site food pantry in Lawrence to on-campus opportunities.


Weekly Sharing Place Opportunities

The Sharing Place is a client-choice food pantry located at 6501 Sunnyside Rd, Indianapolis, IN, 46236.  Open almost every day during the week, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Shopping

Assists neighbors in shopping and selecting produce for their families. 

Sorting Donations and Restocking the Pantry

Help sort, store, and restock donations from partner agencies to ensure neighbors receive fresh, quality produce.

Registration

Help register neighbors as they come into The Sharing Place.

Family Shift

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to give back together and inspire the next generation by showing them the power and impact of community service. Available every Wednesday and Friday, 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm, the daily tasks include restocking the shelves, sorting donations from our partner grocery stores, and helping keep The Sharing Place a warm and welcoming environment for our neighbors! 

Children are welcome ages 9+ and must be accompanied by an adult.


Monthly Sharing Place Opportunities

Second Saturday

Can't make it during the week?  This is the perfect opportunity for you!.  Every second Saturday of the month, The Sharing Place is open on the weekend for shopping.  Volunteers assist the neighbors with shopping and help restock the shelves as needed!

SilverBox Home Delivery

Every third weekend of the month, our SilverBox home delivery program packs and delivers groceries to those who are not able to leave their homes to shop at The Sharing Place. 

Packing the deliveries

On Fridays and Saturdays, volunteers are needed to help pack the boxes of groceries for home delivery.

Home deliveries

After the boxes are packed, volunteers load up their cars and deliver the boxes to the clients' homes.

SEED Residential Volunteering Opportunities

Adopt-a-Dorm

A group commits to monthly visits with one of our centers (dorms/groups of kids). Do a craft, play games, or snack!

Spiritual Care

Volunteers help lead the chapel and facilitate Bible study while working with the Spiritual Life Leader.

Tutoring

Work with the kids to help them accomplish their academic goals.
