Weekly Sharing Place Opportunities
The Sharing Place Food Pantry is a client-choice pantry located at 6501 Sunnyside Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46236. We rely on volunteers nearly every day of the week to help us serve our neighbors with dignity and care. There are many ways to get involved. whether you’re stocking shelves, assisting guests during shopping hours, or helping with donation pick-ups, every role plays an important part in supporting our community.

Shopping with the Neighbors
Volunteers in this role support our neighbors as they select groceries, making sure the shelves stay stocked and the shopping experience welcoming and dignified. Opportunities are available every week, Mondays, Tuesday evenings, Thursdays, and every second Saturday of the month.

Unloading & Sorting Donations
Volunteers in this role play a key part in getting food from truck to table! By unloading, sorting, and organizing donations, you’ll help make sure every item is ready for our neighbors to shop from. Opportunities for this role are available on Tuesday Mornings, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Donation Pickup & Delivery
Volunteers in this role help keep the pantry shelves stocked by driving The Sharing Place vans to local grocery stores, picking up donated items, and delivering them back for neighbors to shop from. This role involved some heavy lifting and driving a large vehicle (Ford Transit).
Opportunities available weekly on Thursday and Friday mornings.

Client Check-In & Registration
Volunteers in this role help check in our neighbors as they come to shop at The Sharing Place. As a Check-In & Registration Volunteer, you will be one of the first friendly faces our clients see when they arrive at the pantry. This role helps provide a welcoming experience by assisting with sign-in, verifying client information, and directing guests through the shopping process.
Opportunities available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every second Saturday of the month.

Monthly Sharing Place Opportunities
Second Saturday
Can't make it during the week? This is the perfect opportunity for you! Every second Saturday of the month, The Sharing Place is open on the weekend for shopping. Volunteers assist the neighbors with shopping and help restock the shelves as needed!
SilverBox Home Delivery
Every third weekend of the month, our SilverBox home delivery program packs and delivers groceries to those who are not able to leave their homes to shop at The Sharing Place.
Packing the deliveries
On Fridays and Saturdays, volunteers are needed to help pack the boxes of groceries for home delivery.
Home deliveries
After the boxes are packed, volunteers load up their cars and deliver the boxes to the clients' homes.

Adopt-a-Dorm
A group commits to monthly visits with one of our centers (dorms/groups of kids). Do a craft, play games, or snack!
Spiritual Care
Volunteers help lead the chapel and facilitate Bible study while working with the Spiritual Life Leader.
Tutoring
Work with the kids to help them accomplish their academic goals.
